Not Just Another Conference

The Association of Administrative Professionals New Zealand Inc (AAPNZ) held their annual conference at Te Papa recently. It was exciting to meet so many administrative professionals and to see a lot of familiar faces in the audience. The conference was fully volunteer run. Some outstanding things they did were:

The conference included registration options so that people could participate to a level that suited their availability and budget. Members could register for 1, 2 or 3 days of the conference and attendance at the gala dinner was optional.

The welcome desk was staffed by a friendly helpful crew of volunteers, including a Life Member. What better way to show delegates they are valued than to have a doyen of the industry welcome them?

The conference ran to schedule, which is no small feat for a conference and is a real credit to the skill and professionalism of the MC Greg Ward, the speakers and the delegates.

Sponsors were given the opportunity to make a brief presentation. This added a lot of value to the sponsorship investment.
- The photographer did not only take the standard range of promotional photographs, but also took head and shoulder shots of delegates, making a very tangible contribution to the conference sub-theme of developing personal brand.
